Hope City Church is proudly rooted as a ministry ofChristian Believers Church, Bangalore, standing together in sound doctrine, faithful discipleship, and gospel mission.
It began in December 2011, when God began to give Pr. Joshua, the Founder & Pastor of Hope City Church, the vision of how the church should be. The mission, Home for the Broken, was born during those deep, prayerful seasons of seeking the Lord.
In 2015, Pr. Joshua quit his full-time corporate job based on the unmistakable call from God to enter full-time ministry. Weeks after stepping out in faith, while attending a Pastor’s conference in November 2015, God clearly spoke to him about the coastal city of Mangalore.
Moving to Mangalore with faith and holy expectation, Pr. Joshua officially launched what is now Hope City Church in October 2016. Since then, God has done remarkable things above and beyond all we could think, ask, or imagine.
Knowing that the God who began the good work is faithful to complete it, our heart beats stronger than ever for every soul in Mangalore. We press forward with deep joy, humility, and passion.

Pr. Joshua serves as the lead pastor of Hope City Church, playing key roles in preaching, teaching, and running the church's daily activities. He was trained under his father, Pr. M. Jayapal, to be an effective minister, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from New Life College (Nava Jeeva Ashram), Bangalore.
He grew up in Bangalore and answered God's clear call to move to Mangalore in 2016 for full-time ministry. He is married to Dr. Myfanwy D'Souza and is a proud father.
Creative Ministry & Worship
Myfanwy serves as the Worship Leader at Hope City Church. She is deeply passionate about worship and desires to lead people closer to God through spirit-filled, Christ-centered, and authentic worship gatherings.
She is married to Pr. Joshua and they cherish raising their young family and walking hand-in-hand with the believers in Mangalore.
